Upward Scholars Announcements

Student Recipes Needed!

In recognition of our diverse cultures, and to thank our donors for their continued generosity and support, we want to share YOUR favorite recipes with the rest of our community. If you have a favorite dish you love to make (it does not have to be a holiday recipe), please send it to me at jessica@upwardscholars.org.

We’ll share your recipes with donors during our end-of-year fundraiser, and include it in an Upward Scholars digital cookbook as a thank you for their donations. Everyone who submits a recipe will also receive a copy of the digital cookbook.

Help us thank our donors by emailing your favorite recipe to me at jessica@upwardscholars.org by midnight on Tuesday, November 9!

What to include in your submission:

  • Your name

  • Name of dish

  • List of measured ingredients

  • Step by step instructions

  • Why this dish is important to you

  • Optional: photo of dish

Submissions should be in English, but we can also accept them in Spanish. We are unable to translate other languages at this time, but if you'd like to provide your recipe in your native language and English as well, it would be an honor for us to receive it in both languages.

Summer 2021 Dean's List Recipients

Dean's List letters for the Summer 2021 semester should be arriving soon for students who earned a 3.3 GPA or higher during the summer semester. This summer, only 190 of the 2,763 students enrolled in courses earned the Dean's List recognition!

If you receive a Dean's List letter, please take a photo of yourself with your letter and send it to me at jessica@upwardscholars.org or text it to (650) 254-6274 as soon as possible. We will be recognizing recipients via social media.
