Marlene Torres-Magaña
Programs Manager
Raised in the Eastern Coachella Valley, a predominantly Latinx community in Southern California, Ms.Torres-Magaña is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and migrant farmworkers. In 2019, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chicana and Chicano Studies and Black Studies with Distinction. In 2022, she graduated with a Master’s in Latin American and Iberian Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. As the new Upward Scholars Programs Manager, Marlene is excited and passionate about helping adult immigrants achieve their academic and professional goals.
