Leticia González-Ratchev
Leticia was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where she completed a Law Degree before immigrating to the United States to pursue a bachelor’s in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Leticia is a Program Officer for the Regional Agenda at The Sobrato Organization. She focuses on capacity building and grantmaking to support systems change and policy advocacy to advance economic mobility. Sobrato’s strategy aligns with Leticia’s purpose—to foster belonging and create inclusive communities where all individuals can contribute and benefit from opportunities, policies, and social structures without barriers related to their identity or background.
Before Sobrato, Leticia spent eight years in the local impact team at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. She focused on strengthening the sector and capacity of small-budget organizations embedded in communities of color. During her tenure at SVCF, Leticia developed a relationship with Upward Scholars through her work with the LatinXCEL Fund. She is excited to contribute to the sustainability of an organization supporting pathways for immigrant communities to thrive.
Leticia lives in Menlo Park with her husband Boris, daughter Maia, and cat Nyx. She enjoys cooking and exploring the connection between culture and food. She also loves camping and the outdoors, exercising, and dancing to Afro-Caribbean Latin rhythms.
